Named as the “Best Historical Museum” in the Tampa Bay area by the Tampa Bay Magazine for 2013-2014.
This small and quaint museum is located at 349 Main Street, just off the Pinellas Trail. The hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The admission fee is $2.00 for adults and free for 7 years and under.
The museum has 2,000 artifacts, over 2,000 photographs and also volumes of local and Florida history. Some exhibits that are on display include the railroad and citrus industry. Living history programs are also part of the society. One popular event is the “History Comes Alive” in the Dunedin Cemetery. Re-enactors portray “individuals of interest” who are buried in the cemetery. Another fun event is the walking tour of certain historic homes within the town.
